Prof Emmanuel Kaunda
Prof Emmanuel Kaunda is the Deputy Vice Chancellor and Professor of Fisheries Science at Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Fisheries (LUANAR). He holds a PhD in Fisheries Science at Rhodes University in 2001 where he also got the esteemed “Best PhD Seminar Award" at the Department of Ichthyology and Fisheries Science. Prof Kaunda received 3rd Prize of the IMPRESSA (Impact Research and Science in Africa) Award 2013 by RUFORUM as one of the best scientists in Africa significant contribution in the field of aquaculture and fisheries research and science including human and institutional development in Africa. He is the co-founder of African Fisheries Experts Network (Afri-Fishnet). He is the Coordinator of the African Union Aquaculture Working Group as well as Coordinator of the NEPAD Fish Node of the Southern Africa Network on Biosciences (SANBio).
