Congratulations to the first recipients of the NEPAD-SANBio/BioFISA II mobility grant. The recipients were supported to attend the Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD) Training Workshop that was held at the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), Pretoria campus, from the 8th to 12th February 2016.
The recipients included: Mr Alec Bishi, University of Namibia; Mr Frank Banda, Central Veterinary Research Institute, Zambia; Mr Mokganedi Mokopasetso, Botswana Vaccine Institute; and Ms Juliah Raletobana, Botswana National Veterinary Laboratory.
The NEPAD-SANBio/BioFISA II Mobility Grants supports Regional (Southern Africa) and international conferences related to the research areas of health and nutrition; Knowledge exchange in specific thematic areas supported by SANBio/BioFISA II; Specific technical training related to current work undertaken by the institution with follow-up plans to utilise skills acquired; Mentor and mentee visits (both academic and business development of bioscience start-ups) provided a mentorship plan is in place; Peer-to-peer exchange meetings between different institutions in the SANBio Network; and Proposal development (only applicable for shortlisted candidates during the preparation of full proposals the SANBio/BioFISA).
