He also the founder of Avelgood Apps, whose apps have gotten more than 12 million downloads, and was a recipient of the Opera Top Apps Award 2013 in the Sport and Health category. Dr CADx, founded in 2016, is tackling the problem of the limited diagnostic accuracy when interpreting medical images which averages 70%. We are developing a computer aided diagnostic system that leverages image recognition technology to help doctors diagnose medical images more accurately and at a low cost. This will help reduce the human errors that have dire consequences for patients and drive up medical costs.
By deploying an artificial intelligence system that will be available at any given time of the day — even in remote areas — we will greatly improve the quality of patient management and save lives, especially in the marginalised areas of the developing world, where the availability of radiologists is very low. Our prototype which achieved a 92% accuracy for TB diagnosis during development tests, will be undergoing a pilot clinical trial in the second quarter of 2018 to validate its performance.
