The Network acquires new skills

Keolebogile Tiro, Network Secretary

The Southern Africa Network for Biosciences has added two new team members.  “Let us all take this opportunity to welcome Keolebogile Tiro and Mehlolo Maphanga to the network” said Dr Chakauya.

Keolebogile Tiro joined the network as the SANBio Network Secretary.

Keo, as she is known, holds a National Diploma in Public Relations Management from the University of Johannesburg. Before joining SANBio, she was an administrator at Malamulele Onward, a non-governmental organisation.

“I view myself as a capable, hard-working, team-oriented person with a dynamic outlook on life and a strong desire to succeed in my field of specialisation”, noted Keo.

“I bring to SANBio my excellent organizational skills which in the past have allowed me to prioritize schedules and complete projects on time and with budget. I love working with people and am very easy to work with. I am also passionate about corporate image and identity,” she concluded.

Mehlolo Magick Maphanga, Media and Communication Intern, joined the Network in May 2014 and has executed many marketing and Communications tasks including developing branding for the network, planning and coordinating events and writing reports, articles and providing content for the website and promotional materials.

Mehlolo holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communication Studies majoring in Communications and Media Studies with Political Science as an additional course. He recently graduated with his Bachelor of Arts Honours in Communication Studies majoring in Advertising Management, Digital Communication and Organisational and Corporate Communication from University of Limpopo.

“Since I joined the organisation I have acquired lot of knowledge in various fields of communication. I want to contribute more and improve the effectiveness and efficiency of operation,” said Mehlolo.
